Dr. Elisa Dowd D.V.M., Owner
Doctor Elisa Dowd graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. She has been practicing in Danville since 1989 and has been at Tassajara Vet since 1991, becoming sole owner in 2002. She and her husband, Doug, have two daughters and are active as 4-H leaders in Danville as well as being in the Danville Grange. Dr. Dowd has been a 4-H vet science project leader since 1991.
Dr. Jeff Johnson
Dr. Jeff Johnson joined Tassajara Veterinary Clinic in 2015. Growing up in San Ramon, he began working in the veterinary field as an assistant at the age of 15. He continued working at veterinary hospitals in the San Ramon Valley while completing high school and college. He is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he received both his undergraduate degree in biological sciences and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After almost 10 years working at a newly built veterinary hospital in the central valley, he is excited to return to practice in his hometown. Dr. Johnson has a strong foundation in general medicine and surgery as well as a personal interest in exotic pet medicine. He enjoys the outdoors, running, hiking, and spending time with his family during his time away from the hospital. His wife and little boy enjoy a full house with two energetic dogs, Keira and Penny, several fish and an adopted king snake.
Dr. Tami Pierce
Dr. Tami Pierce graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 with a focus in small animal primary care. Following graduation, she returned to California and entered private practice in the East Bay where she practiced small animal primary care and exotic medicine. While in private practice, she completed a Don Low Fellowship in Behavior at the University of California School of Veterinary Medicine. After nearly 12 years in private practice and 2 years as an Adjunct Professor in the Veterinary Technician program at Cosumnes River Community College in Sacramento, she returned to UC Davis where she spent 5 years as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Small Animal Community Medicine. Her main focus was teaching veterinary students primary care veterinary medicine and general dentistry. She and her husband Allen share their home with 2 corgis, 3 cats, and a 31-year-old blue and gold macaw. Dr Pierce joins Tassajara Veterinary Clinic ready to partner with you to provide the best veterinary care and experience for your pet.
